Curtis Wayne Abbott passed away on Thursday March 20th, 2025, he was born on October 14th, 1979 in Benton.
He was preceded in death by his amazing grandmother Linda Gail Wilmoth Abbott, and his cousin Amanda Lee Dempsey Santoff.
He was survived in death by: his grandfather Jerry Wayne Abbott, his estranged mother and father, his Aunt Sharon Kay Abbott Dempsey, his Uncle Michael Wayne Abbott, his wife Summer Danielle Skinner Abbott, their three daughters Ellie Grace Abbott (20), Aurora Jane Abbott (17), Lydia Belle Abbott (8), his estranged sisters, his brother Anthony Dean Wood (RaeAnn), his cousin Brian “Keith” Dempsey, and his close friend and colleague David Rogers.
Curtis liked to spend his time watching football, especially the Razorbacks, playing video games, taking road trips, cooking barbeque, and playing Magic with Anthony.
He was married to Summer for 18 years but together for 21. Though he often said it felt like a lot longer! But, 21 years of that light hearted banter was not enough.
He always strived to be the best dad to his daughters. He loved them with his whole heart and always did anything for them. He made sure that his children were provided for and did everything in his power to make sure they had a better childhood than he did.
He was a hard working man, who worked until the last moment he possibly could.
In spite of his mother being abusive and his father choosing to be absent, Curtis was still the kind of person who’d help a stranger and stand up for and defend anyone who needed it. And, sometimes even if they didn’t.
He had a special bond with his grandparents, who were more like parents to him. He had his grandpa’s personality and his grandma’s heart. The combination of which made him the awesome person he was.
His Aunt Sharon was like a mom to him, second only to his grandma. His Uncle Mike was more than an uncle, he was more like a big brother.
Curtis took care of and protected his brother Anthony, and their younger sister. He stepped up and took the parental role for them when they didn’t have one while he was still a child himself.
He was tragically taken from his family and friends way too soon, he will be greatly missed. And, his absence will leave a hole in the hearts of us all.
“I would give anything for one more day with you. My life will never be normal without you in it, Mr Man.” – Summer
“He loved me with his entire being and I adored him. I did not just lose a brother but the man I looked up to as a dad.” – Anthony
“One of the last things you said to me was ‘I’m sorry I wasn’t a better dad’. And, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you then that I don’t need a better dad, I just need you.” – Ellie
“I’ll miss watching Star Wars movies with you and talking about video games.” – Aurora
“He was the best dad ever. I love you daddy.” – Lydia

So many tears. You will be so missed Curtis
I love you dad.
We love you, big brother-in law! We will miss you. Miss celebrating holidays with you, eating your barbecue while gossiping and swapping crazy childhoods stories. Your witty, sarcastic sense of humor will live on through your beautiful girls, who all were blessed with it. Goodbye for a little while.
Love,
Josh and Ash
