Dale Franklin Boyd
November 24, 1949 – March 26, 2025
Dale Franklin Boyd, 75, a lifetime resident of Mountain Home, AR, peacefully passed away following a battle with cancer on March 26, 2025, at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock, AR.
Dale was born on November 24, 1949 in Mountain Home, AR to Ray Franklin and Betty Jean (Davidson) Boyd, both Ozark natives. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, stationed aboard the U.S.S. Oriskany aircraft carrier.
A skilled tradesman, Dale worked in the construction and drywall business throughout his life. In his 60s, Dale returned to his academic studies and earned an Associate of Science in General Studies degree from Colorado Technical University, a personal milestone that he was very proud to achieve. Dale found joy in the simple things of life. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting in the Ozarks, and was an eager jokester and storyteller. He found contentment in growing large vegetable gardens, tending his house plants, and preparing meals for others. Dale had a generous heart and cared deeply for his family and friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Larry Gene Boyd and Darrell Lee Boyd, and his stepson, Chad Neal. He is survived by his adopted son, Curt Michael Boyd; his brothers, Ronald Ray Boyd of Harrison, AR, and Terry Wayne Boyd of Flagstaff, AZ; and his sister, Donna Marie Boyd Smith and her husband, Mark W. Smith, of Georgetown, TX. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: David Boyd (April), Michelle (Gabriel) Garcia, Shelley (Jeff) Williams, Shannon Santangelo, Jason (Megan) Boyd, Heather (Jesse) Breckenridge, Emily Brown, Kyle Boyd, Reuben Boyd, Cody Boyd, and Austin Boyd Smith.
To honor his memory, a Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the American Legion in Mountain Home, AR. Dale will be laid to rest in the Martin family cemetery in Norfork, AR.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dale’s memory to the Mountain Home American Legion.
