Jody Dewayne Prince, age 44, of Monticello, Arkansas, passed from this earth on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Jody was born in Warren, Arkansas and raised in Monticello. He attended Monticello Schools and joined the Marine Corps during his Senior year of high school.
Jody served in the Marines from 1999-2003. He was deployed to Iraq where he fought in the Battle of Baghdad, as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. He received the Presidential Unit Citation, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon a Good Conduct medal, and a National Defense Service medal.
Jody worked as a welder for numerous companies in Arkansas and was part of the SeaArk Boats family in Monticello for over ten years. Jody was an outdoor enthusiast who loved hunting and fishing. However, his favorite was bass fishing wherever the fish were biting.
Jody was baptized at the age of 15 when he found his love for Jesus Christ. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Monticello. He had a loving soul and never met a stranger. He was definitely one of a kind! Jody had an unwavering love for his wife, Misty, his family, and the United States of America.
Jody was preceded in death by his wife, Misty Prince (Manes), his father, Roy Prince, Sr., his mother, Virginia Adams (Peacock), and his nephew, Dakota Hollis.
Jody is survived by his son Raymond Thompson of Beulaville, North Carolina, his daughters Kennedie Prince and Kadence Prince of Monticello, his stepfather, Greg Adams, of Monticello, his sister, Toni Parker of Little Rock, his brother, Roy Prince Jr. of Monticello, two beautiful granddaughters, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial service, for Jody, will be held at First Free Will Baptist Church of Monticello on Saturday, 22 March at 1:00 pm.
