Rev. Wesley Gene Long, age 58

Rev. Wesley Gene Long, 58, of Conway, Arkansas was welcomed into the Kingdom of Glory on March 13, 2025. Wesley was born August 2, 1966 in Newport, Arkansas to the late Danny G. Long and Terry Beth Long.

Wesley loved his Lord and his church, Zion Baptist Church, where he served as a pastor for the last 3 years. He cherished his family with all of his heart, and his grandchildren thought he hung the moon. His friends always knew that they could count on him to be there for them. Wesley was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, deer hunting, duck hunting, and playing disk golf with his best buddy, Chad Brewer. He also loved to bowl and had many friends from the Conway Family Bowling Center.

Wesley is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Phyllis Janette Long; three sons Christopher Blessing, Robbie Meeks (Lexee), David Long (Autumn); two daughters Sherry Beck (Jerry), Ashley Burnette (Jon); a brother David Freeman (Jesse); grandmother Betty Vance; mother-in-law Brenda Meeks; thirteen grandchildren Larry, Zachary, Cherokee, Jerry Don, Willow Janette, Rylie, Layla, Ryan, Brycan, Jacob, Wesley, Alyssa, Dantae; and many other family and friends.

Wesley is also preceded in death by his sister-in-law Christy Meeks and father-in-law Rev. Larry Meeks.
