Ronald Guy Taylor, 71, was born February 27, 1954 in Jacksonville and ran into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Ronnie loved the Lord, his family, and friends. He is survived by his son Wesley Taylor and daughter-in-law Haley Lagasse along with his former wife Colleen Foy Moser. He is also survived by his brother Buddy Taylor and his wife Connie, his sister Sandy Gray and her husband Bruce, nephews Buddy Taylor Jr. and Stacy Taylor, and nieces Jennifer Tharp Mills and Erin Hunt. Ronnie had a very special relationship with his great-niece and nephew, Presley and Oakley Hunt, who affectionately call him “Uncle Wonnie”.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his father Buddy Taylor, mother Faye (Carter) Taylor, infant sister Glenda Gail Taylor, and his beloved dog and best friend Bo.
Ronnie followed in his father’s footsteps as a Master Electrician, working throughout all central Arkansas. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. After retirement, he spent his days on his farm doing what he loved, raising horses and cows, growing an impressive garden, and cutting hay. He had many close friendships throughout his life, and they all knew “RT” was ready to lend a helping hand. His closest friend who never left his side was Bo. If you saw Ronnie, you saw Bo.
Ronnie enjoyed the simple life. When asked what kind of birthday cake, milkshake, cookies, or candy bar he’d like, Ronnie would respond with one word, “Chocolate.” He kept Hershey’s and Coca-Cola in business. He was habitually late, and eventually Sandy and Erin would tell him an appointment was earlier than the actual time. Ronnie never turned down a meal at Sandy’s table. When asked if he wanted a second helping, he’d answer, “You bet.” He had an answer for everything and most of the time he was right, just ask him. After all, his initials were RGT.
Ronnie would be proud that his first cousin, Len Johnson Jr., will be officiating his funeral service. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 13 at 1:00 at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 11923 Zion Hill Road in Cabot. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 at Zion Hill. Interment at Sumner Cemetery in Cabot.
Memorial donations may be given to the South Bend Volunteer Fire Department #10, PO Box 278, Jacksonville, AR 72078.
Come as you are – that’s how Uncle Ronnie would want it.

So sorry to see this post today. I’ve always loved your family and didn’t get to know Ronnie as much as the rest of you but always knew he had to be a one of a kind. Cherish the memories as you know life is shorter than we’d like. Hugs and prayers.
Am sorry to read of Ronnie’s passing this afternoon. Was remembering what a good kickball player, Ronnie was in 5th grade at Jacksonville Elementary. He was always able to kick that ball so hard 😉 There are other good memories from when we were in high school.
