Sarah Allyn Skaggs passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on March 23, 2025, after a long battle with breast cancer. She was 37 years old. Through her five-year cancer journey, she never let her diagnosis diminish her light and spirit. With her quick wit and sarcastic jokes, she was always ready to brighten anyone’s day.
Sarah loved spending time with her family, her long-term partner, and the many friends she made while working at Kroger. She loved animals, especially her two cats, Panda and Swayze. She was a gifted artist that enjoyed building models, drawing, and painting. She was passionate about her studies in nursing school at UALR and enjoyed watching Golden Girls in her free time.
Sarah is survived by her partner, Mark Teakell; her father, Allen Skaggs; her mother and stepfather, Autumn and David Luttmer; her sister, Katie Skaggs; her brother, Joshua Skaggs; nephews, Riley and Asher Skaggs; niece, Bonnie Skaggs; granny, Bonnie Sojourner; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Sarah is preceded in death by her grandparents Reuben and Verzene Skaggs, and Bobby Ray Williams
She will forever be cherished. We will always look back fondly on memories of her. Her strength and bravery are an inspiration to us all.
We would like to give our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Mendelsohn, Joanna, and the CARTI team. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to CARTI.
A celebration of life will be held in honor of Sarah on April 5 from 2-5 pm at the Jess Odom Community Center in the South Room at 1100 Edgewood Dr, Maumelle, AR 72113.

I remember when I transferred to Maumelle and Sarah was quiet at first but it wasn’t long she would start singing out loud and me kidding around asked her I thought you were too shy to sing and said not anymore and I said to her after hearing you sing you can go back to being shy and she laughed really loud like she does and said NOPE I’m going to sing louder..
I worked with Sarah when she first learned of her diagnosis, I have never met a more courageous and determined person in my life. She was determined to not let cancer stop her from fulfilling her dreams. She had a smile for everyone and kept a positive attitude even when most would have shown just how hard it was to keep going… through treatment, through good reports and bad.. she was a worrier. Rest in sweet peace as you live through all those you touched, there are many you will never know what your example of how to live life affected them and changed them.
I didn’t know Sarah that well, but I graduated high school with Allen. He always spoke about all of his children & grandchildren with warm thoughts. My condolences to your family. May you be blessed with comfort during this time of loss.
Sarah was one of the first I met when I got to Maumelle, she so sweet in helping me adjust to a new store. After a time, we became friends, she always made me laugh and feel better if I was having a bad day. I’m so grateful I had the blessing of knowing her.
