Brandon Scott Cowart was born January 19th, 1983, in Pine Bluff to Charlotte Cantrell and Kurtis Lee Cowart. He was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School. Brandon worked as a laborer in Sheridan, AR. He loved being social with family and friends and cherished his love of football with his only son. Brandon was a member of Green Meadows Baptist Church and having decided to be baptized at a young age, he was a man of God and enjoyed reading his bible during his quiet time. Some of Brandon’s fondest memories were the church van nights with his friends from the ‘neighborhood’. Brandon was described as being the ‘jokester’ of the family, always having a smile on his face and enjoyed making a crowd laugh. He loved many outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. He amused himself by being a prankster and prided himself in playing jokes on his brother and sister and several cousins throughout his life, but he was always fond of lending a helping hand to his loved ones, especially his mother and sister by helping around the house and fixing things when needed.
Brandon passed away on Thursday, March 20th, 2025, surrounded by family. Although he did not live a long life, he lived a full life of laughter and love.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Harold Scarlett, Mary Idell Murdock Scarlett and Chris Fitzhugh of Pine Bluff, AR.
Survivors include his mother, Charlotte Cantrell of Pine Bluff. Father, Kurtis Lee Cowart. Grandfather, Terry Don Fitzhugh. Brother, Zachary (Talisa) Cowart of Benton. Sister, Heather Nicole Levine of Sheridan. Son, William Scott Cowart of Sheridan; and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and a host of friends.
Brandon’s final resting place will be at Lee Cemetery in Sulphur Springs. A memorial will be held for friends and family to be announced later.

Brandon was such an amazing person, he was a good person, a great brother/friend an the most wonderful uncle to my daughter Paysen an son Austin. In the month on January he had spoken to my mom about redeadicating his life to God. I decided to ask him about it a day or two later an I was able to help him redeadicate his life to the lord. It made me feel so happy an so blessed. After that day every morning an every night I would send him verses from the Bible. It means the world to me that I was able to help him get life back with the Lord. We would have phone conversations about God, an different verses in the Bible an different things he questioned an wasn’t sure we would talk about it. Brandon will definatly be missed by me my daughter an son. My life has changed so much since he passed. I feel so lost because for 2 months I sent him verses, to not sending them at all. Prayers for his loved ones his family. Rest in peace Brandon
Brandon, I knew him when him and my brother “Robert Ridder” were in school together. He was like a bonus brother to me. He always knew how to make a person laugh! One day sitting at my house in Sheridan he told me he would out live all of us he clearly was right. I told him to stop talking like that cuz we was gonna be old and having wheel chair races. He just laughed and said I’ll still beat you at that too. He was a great uncle to my son. Showed him how to work hard for what ya want! God “B” I’m gonna miss you! Hate that I didn’t make it back to Arkansas sooner! Rest easy my friend/brother you certainly will me missed!
