Joyce Virginia Burchett Rhodes, 74, of Sheridan, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025.
She was born on October 27, 1950 in Pine Bluff, daughter to Thomas Burchett and Mazie Rodgers Burchett.
She was raised in Woodlawn where she received her education, graduating from Woodlawn High School.
Ms. Rhodes’s greatest pride was being a mother to her. daughter, Heather Dawn, and a Grandmother to. Heather’s children, Kassidy and Sarah, and her bonus grandson, Dalton. She loved working outside on nice days, at one point raising her own garden, as well as binge-watching her favorite show, Downton Abbey. You would often find her cozied up in her recliner surrounded by her fur babies that she loved dearly. She also loved being Glammie and Mama Joyce to our chosen family.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her older brothers Adam Burchett, Paul Davis, J.M. Guffey, Howard Guffey Sr., and David Guffy Sr.
Survivors include her daughter, Heather Rhodes, of Sheridan, and her grandchildren, Kassidy Silliman-Erb and her husband, Dalton, of Sheridan, and Sarah Silliman, also of Sheridan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Have many fond memories of Joyce. She was a wonderful sister-in-law- we had great times together – listening to music, doing our hair and makeup and many heart to heart talks.
Friend and neighbor gone on to ‘glory’ will be missed by those who knew her! Prayers for family who mourns her passing.
My sweet Grandma. Oh how I miss her already.
