Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Carl Houston Skinner, age 66, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away on May 27, 2025. He was born in Little Rock on March 18, 1959 to Raymond and Lillian (Nichols) Skinner.

Carl was a gentle giant teddy bear, 6’7″, pushing 300lbs, huge heart and a work ethic beyond words. He was never the one to discipline.  He was the “nice” parent, like spur of the moment kind of fun.   During his younger years, softball was his thing, however, he would dabble in golf and sometimes fish. As the years passed, family/friends and dirt track racing were his life.   He enjoyed having friends and family around.  Work took a ton of his time, but he was the man of the house and he took great care of his family.  There was never a time we ever went without.  He raised 4 great kids and loved two of the best women there is.  He would always say, “no grandkids, the world is a horrible place” but he loved all 5 of his grandkids and wouldn’t trade a moment of time with them.   He loved most people and liked a lot.  He had broad shoulders to cry on and two giant ears to listen.  He repeated himself often, but only to make sure you clearly understood him.  He truly is the best husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend a person could ask for.

He is preceded in death by his son Donavan Mitchell, his parents Raymond and Lillian Skinner, his father-in-law Tommy Beeson.

He leaves behind a wife Tommie Skinner, his kids Kristie Roachell (Tim), Erin Jones, Marilynne Mitchell (Chase Marshall). Grandkids Timmy, Justin, Eryn, Grace and little Darcy who is on the way.

Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 10:00am in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

Special thanks to Baptist Hospice for their excellent care they provided Carl.

You were a great man. You had morale and was a very Intelligent man. To know you was to love you and I’ll cherish all the memories I got to share with you and thank you for always having my back and giving my children pawpaw talks. Im so thankful I got to see you in your last days here on earth and we got to talk about Heaven. How wonderful you saw it and how peaceful it was. I know in my heart you are there with our Father and I’ll b forever grateful God used me to walk you through salvation. You are now pain free and I’ll get to see you when I get home.
