Rebecca Shelton Young passed away on May 5, 2025 surrounded by her loving family and friends after a courageous battle against cancer. She was born on June 23, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Charles and Lillian Shelton.
Becky is survived by her son Joseph Young (Emily), daughter Robin Jones (Jimmy), and her grandchildren Tyler Thibeau III, Lillie Young, Brian Young, Zak Jones, and Ava Jones. Becky is also survived by siblings Susie Shelton, Rick Shelton (Dana), Dan Shelton (Susan), and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Brian D. Young.
Becky was full of wit and humor, and lived a full and rewarding life. She was an intelligent, gifted medical transcriptionist for decades but her favorite occupation was being Mimi to her beloved grandchildren. Becky and Brian enjoyed their horses, kids, grandkids, dogs, and the outdoors, living as though the earthly life would someday end- a message to those she leaves behind.
The family is grateful to Dr. Lawrence Mendelsohn and staff for their expertise and devotion for the last several years and also to the staff of Baptist Hospice for the exemplary care.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 8th from 5:00-7:00pm at Geyer Springs United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. A memorial service will follow on Friday, May 9th at 10:00am.

Thank you so much, Amanda. We had a lot of great adventures together!
I did not know her, but I work with her brother,Dan, at the library. My prayers and heart goes to the Shelton and Young families!
Thank you, Richard. We appreciate this.
Let me know if you need anything!
Dear Cousins:
A wise woman once said, “The human heart can only hold so much joy or sorrow, and after it is full the contents spill over into the lives of those around it. We are not made stony and selfish creatures, sufficient unto ourselves and completely lacking in responsibility to our fellow beings. We are sharers in the sorrows of this life, ‘mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.'”
We grieve with you in the loss of your dear Becky and we lovingly hold on to the wonderful memories we have of her. “There is a place for the sadness…hold on to love!.. Hold on to love where hope is found…” May God bless her and all of you!
It is so true Pat. I will cherish all the memories. She is with all our loved ones that have gone on before us and having a great eternity. Love and miss you all.
When I saw Becky and got to visit with her, I was so drawn in to her. She was witty, and fun. I will be praying for you dear cousins along with your family as I know how deeply she will be missed. I hope that your memories of love and laughter with her fill your heart and take away your sorrow as time moves on.
You know it will. There was lots and lots of laughter and love. It will take a life time to remember it all. Love you and yours.
You will never be forgotten, Becky. Your memory will be a blessing to all who knew you, even if some of us never met you in real life.
Her imaginary friends were top-notch. Thank you for being so good to her and us.
Sending thoughts and prayers to the family.
Thanks Tim, you know she loved the Brothers Bros.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family
