Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Steven Russell Brooks, age 44

Steven Russell Brooks, age 44, of Redfield, Ark., passed away on May 7, 2025, at UAMS in Little Rock. He was born in Raleigh, N.C., on December 4, 1980. He was the son of Elizabeth Brooks.

Steve grew up in the Assemblies of God church and was a Royal Ranger. Steven and his mother would go to Native American PowWows and travel to historical sites all along the East Coast for vacations. Before moving to Arkansas, he kayaked the Natahala River with his best friend Dave every chance he got and traveled to competitions for play boating.

In Arkansas. Steve was a 10-year member of the Gringos MC. He loved hanging out and riding his motorcycle with his Red and Gold brothers. If there was an event he was there always willing to help out and lend a hand. He always enjoyed traveling out of state and meeting new people and making new friends. Outside of motorcycles he was also always helping people out. He would give the shirt off his back for someone in need. He was always the happiest putting a smile on someone else’s face. He was well known for the fact that if there were babies he wanted to talk to them. If there was an animal he wanted to pet it and make it his friend. Some affectionately called him ‘Mouth’ but most called him Gringo Steve. He never met a stranger and had the ability to carry on a conversation for hours.

He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Brooks.

Steve is survived by Sheila Bennett his loving Ol’Lady of 13 years. Three bonus children Cameron, Derek, and Shelby. A bonus mom, Martha, bonus brother and sister Michelle and Chris. In North Carolina, Aunt and Uncle Carolyn and James; Cousins: Mac and Francis. Additionally, community members / co-workers and hundreds of Red and Gold brothers and sisters that he called family.

I love you Brother. From day one we clicked. Your heart was probably the biggest in the world and you loved hard. You will be severely missed by everyone that knew you. I’ll ride with you again one day but until then don’t do anything I wouldn’t do. Rest In Love Brother
