Therese Leilani O’Donnell, 59, gained her wings May 20, 2025. Therese was born on June 24, 1965 to James (Jim) and Patricia (Pat) Stevens in San Diego, CA. Therese married her loving husband, Chip, in 1989. They had three loving children. Therese was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Pat.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory; husband Chip; children and bonus daughter; Jonathan (Tabitha), Katrina, and Makayla; her grandson that she loved to the moon and back, Remington; siblings John, Jimmy, David, and Kate (Chris); two best friends, Cheryl and Patti and numerous other friends and acquaintances.
Many came to know her throughout her 26-year career with Lonoke County. She began her career in 1999 in the Collector’s Office, before she started working for the Assessor’s Office. She then transitioned to the Collector’s Office, where she has served as Collector since 2018. Therese often worked behind the scenes with numerous Charities and Organizations, with the Dance Club and Ducks Unlimited holding a special place in her heart.
Therese had a heart of gold and was known for giving a helping hand. She was loyal and loving, but a force to be reckoned with at times. Her memory will live on through all that knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.

Theresa I miss you cousin, love you bunches. To the rest of the family, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Big hugs and much love.
I worked at St. Rose Catholic Church for 11 years.
That is where I met Therese. She was very active in church functions. Whenever we had our potlucks, she would ask me to bring my chocolate cake. She and her daughters loved it. When she ran for County Tax Collector, I put an election sign in our front yard at home for her. I was glad she won. I will miss her but I know she is in a better place with Jesus. May God be with her family and friends during this difficult time.
I’m so sorry to hear about your sister. My heart goes out to you and your family.I’m here to support you through this tough time.
My Heart is Heavy & Happy all at the same time…Happy, because she is no longer in pain and Heavy because I will never see or talk to her again…….We have been friends for over 20 years…. Sisters for over10 years. She will Forever be in my Heart and her Family will be Forever in my Prayers…..
I served the collectors office for several years as their IT guy and always received a hug and a kind word when I came in. Will miss Therese’s loving spirit. May God give her family peace during this time of loss. For I know that she has it now.
