In Loving Memory
Patricia Bellettiere
January 10, 1944 – June 16, 2025
“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”
– C.S. Lewis
Patricia “Pat” Bellettiere passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life. She was 81 years old.
Pat was born on January 10, 1944, in New York City, New York, to Theresa and Melvin “Mel” Shiner. She later moved with her family to Chicago, Illinois – a place that shaped much of her early life. Pat built a meaningful and fulfilling career at United Airlines, where she worked for 30 years, much of that time alongside her beloved mother, Theresa. Their bond was as strong in the workplace as it was at home.
She is survived by her devoted husband and lifelong sweetheart, Michael Bellettiere; her loving children, Tricia and Michael Bellettiere; her treasured grandchildren, Bianca Baratti Vaughan, Valencia Rose Vaughan, Abbey Bellettiere, and Joseph Bellettiere; her beloved sisters, Diana Bellini and Teresa Lange; and many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces who brought her immense joy.
Pat and Mike’s love story began when they were just teenagers – a bond that blossomed into a lifelong partnership filled with devotion, adventure, and unwavering love. They spent decades growing their family, traveling, and simply enjoying one another’s company through each season of life. Some of their happiest days were spent on Bull Shoals Lake – remodeling their lake house, fishing, and going to the 178 Club for brunch – creating a life full of peaceful moments and shared joy.
For many years, Pat and her family vacationed in Arkansas to visit her father, Mel – time filled with love, laughter, and memories that drew her heart closer to the Ozarks. Those trips played a meaningful part in her life, and it was no surprise when she and Mike eventually made Arkansas their home.
They moved to Bull Shoals in the early 2000s and later settled in Damascus to be closer to their great-granddaughter, Valley Rose – the light of Pat’s later years.
Pat loved deeply and gave endlessly. She spent countless hours on the phone with family, offering guidance, comfort, and encouragement. Her voice was a lifeline – steady, reassuring, and full of care. She celebrated others with her whole heart and made everyday moments feel special.
She and her granddaughter Bianca shared a bond rooted in deep conversation and heartfelt dreams. They spent hours talking about the future, and Pat helped shape Bianca’s path in ways that still echo today – offering love, vision, and belief that became a foundation. She was incredibly proud of Abbey for her recent decision to attend the University of Central Arkansas (UCA), and never missed a video of Joe performing in the band – always beaming with pride and joy over their talents and milestones.
She adored shopping trips with Bianca and Tricia and treasured visits from her son Michael and grandchildren Abbey and Joseph – time that filled her heart and reminded her of everything she loved most in this world. Her chocolate cake was the stuff of legend, her watercolor paintings reflected her quiet creativity, and her garden flourished under the touch of her gifted green thumb.
A devout Catholic, Pat was a proud member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Her faith was her compass, and she found great joy in helping to guide and support the next generation of
believers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theresa and Melvin “Mel” Shiner; her grandparents; and her beloved pets – dogs Fabio, Fionnuala, Bailey, Izzy, Lola, and Zobie, and her sweet cat Lilly – who we know were waiting joyfully for her at heaven’s gate.
Pat’s love leaves a lasting legacy – in the family she nurtured, the friendships she held dear, and the many lives she touched. She was always there when you needed her. She showed up, listened, cared, and gave of herself completely. Her life was a beautiful reflection of faith, family, and unconditional love.
As she always said: “Xoxo, love, Grandma.”
In lieu of flowers, if you would like to honor Pat’s memory, donations can be made to a local animal shelter. Pat loved her fur babies dearly, and supporting animals in need is a tribute she would truly cherish. Donations may be mailed to: PO Box 437, Damascus, AR 72039.
Please join us to celebrate Pat’s life on Sunday, June 29th from 3:00-5:00 PM at 400 Hwy 124 West, Damascus, AR 72039
