Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Randy Allen Black, age 63

Randy Allen Black, 63, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away on June 12, 2025. He was born on March 12, 1962, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Jack and Jennie (Stogsdill) Black.

As part of a military family, Randy had the opportunity to live in many places before the family settled in Jacksonville. Growing up he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and occasionally getting into mischief.

Randy held a wide variety of jobs. As a teenager, he worked at Piggly Wiggly, then spent a few years on riverboats before becoming a long-haul truck driver for Maverick Transportation. It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Diana “Dee” Stacy. They were married on April 30, 1993—though Randy always insisted it was April 31st. Together, they shared 32 years of marriage and raised one daughter, Shayla.

Randy and Dee made their home in Tipton, Indiana, where he worked in underground utilities before returning to Arkansas in 2000. Randy did a variety of jobs once he moved back to Arkansas including delivering and setting up mobile homes, working in concrete, installing internet, and later serving as an assistant manager at a gas station. He officially retired in April 2024.

Randy loved fishing, reading, and working puzzle books. A lifelong Rolling Stones fan, he proudly collected memorabilia, and his favorite song was “Wild Horses.”

He is survived by his loving bride, Diana Black, and daughter, Shayla Black of Tipton, Indiana; his parents, Jack Sr. and Jennie Black of Jacksonville, Arkansas; and his siblings: Cynthia Ellis; Ralph Black; Jennifer (DeWayne) James; and Jack Black Jr.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews: Tia (Rod) Rodriguez, Brittney (Jonathan) Dodd, Jacob James, Allison James, Samantha James, Jonathan James, Julia Black, Cody Stacy, Callie Langley, Kyle Heffelmire, and Matthew Stacey. His great-nieces and nephews include Liyah, Alexander, Kylie, Lucas, Jonathan, Blayson, and Otto.

Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gilbert and Ethel Black and Clyde and Lucy Stogsdill, as well as his mother-in-law, Donna Goodnight.

There will be no public memorial service.

Randy, you were a dear friend to Michael and like a brother to me. Im going to miss those talks and all the “bees” you tagged me in on Facebook. RIL, you’re only gone in body, your spirit still lives on and you’ll never be forgotten.
