Robert Leon “Bob” Kordsmeier
January 23, 1948 – June 1, 2025
Robert Leon Kordsmeier, known to most as Bob, and to a few from his younger days as Robby, passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 77.
Bob was born on January 23, 1948, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Joseph Gerhardt Kordsmeier and Roberta Majors. He grew up in Little Rock, where he attended Catholic High and graduated from Central High School in 1967. He also proudly served in the Air Force.
Bob lived a life grounded in love for his family. He is survived by his daughters Kimberly Davison (Kevin) and Holli Harrington (Patrick), his son Luke Kordsmeier (Mandy), his sister Melinda Needham, his brother Joseph Kordsmeier, his grandchildren Katie, Lindsey, Hannah, Peyton, and Beckett, and a next generation of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom warmly referred to him as “Pappy.”
He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Roberta, his sister Rosemary “Pudge” Matthews and his nephew Rick Kordsmeier.
If you were in Bob’s circle, you knew he never missed a birthday, anniversary, or important milestone, and was often the first one to drop a line to say he was thinking of you. He was a man who cared deeply, sometimes gruffly, but always sincerely.
Bob had a quick wit, a strong opinion, and a soft heart. He changed his mind constantly about what he wanted for dinner but never wavered in his loyalty to the Arkansas Razorbacks. He was a proud fan of the Hogs to the end. In his honor, the family invites you to catch a Razorback game and cheer (or yell) a little louder.
He was a storyteller, a steady presence, and a voice you could count on, whether you wanted the advice or not. His legacy lives on in the lives of those he guided, teased, supported, and loved.
A private service will be held at a later date to celebrate Bob’s life.
