Thomas “Tom” Baker, a resident of Austin, Arkansas passed away on June 19, 2025 at the age of 64. He was born on October 18th, 1960 in Des Arc, Arkansas to Homer Gene and Wanda White Baker.
He was an avid outdoorsman and an expert cat fisherman. He taught many people how to snag and fish the Arkansas River. He joined the army in the early 80’s and traveled the world. After the army, he became a logger and worked from the East Coast to the West Coast cutting timber, finally settling back in Arkansas where he married the love of his life Marcy Baker. He took her family in and loved them like his own. He touched many people’s lives and taught many people a great deal about the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marcy Baker and his son Zachary Baker. He is succeeded by two sisters, a daughter Chrissy Lopez, and three sons, Shane Baker, Cody Baker, and Clay Baker. He also had many grandchildren, including Shane Baker 2, Courtney Baker, Dakota Mason, Brian Mason, Bree Foy, Brayden Foy, and Asher Ledbetter. He also had several great grandchildren.
He will be loved and missed.
