
Daniel Warren Hurt of Mansfield, Arkansas passed away peacefully in Conway Arkansas August 11,2025 at the age of 79 Years and 6 Months.
He is survived by his daughter Candi Sikes and husband Bryan of Austin, Arkansas. Stepchildren Tammy Barr, and Kevin Barr of Pocola, OK, Grandchildren Bryanna, Raegan & Danielle Sikes, Tarah Schossow and husband Caleb of Mansfield, Austin Gray, and Tori Barr. Great-grandchildren Adrian & Zoey Schossow. One sister Barbara Stephens, two brothers Glen Hurt and wife Jan Hurt, Neil Hurt and wife Glenda, plus many nieces, nephews and cousins that he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents Captain Pete Hurt and Ina Bell Hurt, his wife of 22 years Sonja G. Hurt, one daughter Tina Ronae’ Gray, and his daughter that died at birth.
He was born in Fort Smith, AR February 11, 1946. After many travels around the world as a military brat also living in Austria, Texas, & Louisiana he finished his school years in Mansfield from 10th-12th grade, working through high school with his Uncle Manuel Hurt as an electrical helper, upon graduation from Mansfield High School Class of ‘64 he attended Fort Smith Technical Jr. College, and College of the Ozarks, then proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, achieving the rank of Technical Sergeant (E-6) as an Aircraft Mechanic Technician before retiring in 1986 and was Retired Reserve until 1996. Danny retired from Dixie Cup in Fort Smith, AR. He also worked for the US Postal Service and Ducks Body shop for a period of time. He was a member of the Scott-Sebastian VFW Post 8245, from 1989 and served as QuarterMaster for many years until his health declined.
He spent his retirement years at his lake house on Lake Spur. He loved watching sports, was a loyal Razorback fan and 20 yr. Donor, and Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved spending time with family, and friends, tinkering with machines & electrical systems, and enjoyed his collection of almost all genres of music. His beautiful deep bass singing was always enjoyed in the church choir. He had a great sense of humor and quick wit enjoyed by everyone who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at the Dayton Community Building, Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 10:00am. All friends and family are welcome.
