Anthony “Tony” Wade Cook
Tony Cook, 61, of Oil Trough, went to be with his Lord and Savior with many loved ones in Heaven on October 17th, 2025.
He was born on April 15th, 1964, in Newport to Lowell Cook and Martha Cook. Tony also considered Batesville home as he spent many years living there. He had many friends and family there.
Tony was retired at the time of his passing. He worked for the pipeline in his younger years, and also worked for White Rogers in Batesville for many years. Later in life, he was a business owner of AT&T retail stores in Pocahontas, Hoxie, and Paragould, where he developed even more friendships.
Tony “The Tiger” lived life to the fullest. He loved his family and friends. He never met a stranger. Tony always took his friendships to heart and would always help them anyway he could if they were ever in need. His passions were hunting, fishing, and anything that required being outdoors. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his kids and grandkids. He passed on his love for the outdoors to them as well.
Tony is preceded in death by his “Nana & Papa” Frances and Oscar Lassiter and Uncle Freddy Lassiter, Grandparents Betty and Bud Cook and Uncle Johnny Cook, both parents, Lowell Cook and Martha Ashcraft, and sister Tena Cook.
He is survived by his daughters, Kera Cook (Heather) of Beatrice, NE., and Ashli Dickey (Josh) of Batesville, AR.
Sisters Dena Cook Read of Newport, AR, Tasha Hosmer of Nora Springs, IA, and brother Daniel Cook of Mt. Pleasant, IA
Two special nieces, Andrea Conn (Alex) of Newport, AR and Jessica Metcalf (Cody Sr.) of Bradford, AR
Grandchildren: Addisyn Davis, Hastin Dickey, Dax Dickey, and Jackson Burns.
Tony had admired many aunts and uncles, including Uncle Wayne Lassiter, Auntie Justine Dunn, Aunt Candace Dunn, Aunt Mary, and his special Uncle Buddy Cook.
Tony had many close friends and lifelong friends who were always there for him. A special thanks to Bryan Johnson, Terry and Carolyn George, Teresa Combs, Abe Jones, Little Tommy, and a host of others.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 27th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Oil Trough Community Center. All are invited.
