David D. Phelps passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 1, 2025. He was born in Malvern, Arkansas, on August 13, 1946. 

David was a home builder by trade for over 40 years. He owned and operated a Mini Storage and RV park with his wife, Evie. He worked and volunteered for more than 30 years at the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol where he served as Commander and Chief. He always had his partner, Silver, his palomino, by his side. David also enjoyed his time spent running a cattle farm for over 35 years. 

He is preceded in death by his father, Corbitt Phelps, his mother Ruby Eskew Phelps, sisters Mary Hinkle, Betty Hightower, and Carol King, and brothers Charles Phelps and Steve Phelps. 

He is survived by his wife, Evie Phelps, sister Ginger Phelps, son David Wayne (Dawn) Phelps, daughter Rhonda Phelps, stepson Pete (Kim) Kelly and stepdaughter Cheryl Donahue. 

David did not want a memorial service. He chose to be cremated and his ashes spread over his beloved farm with his immediate family present. He was a hard worker and loved by his family. He will be missed.
