Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Richard William Giroux “Rickster” or “Ricky”, 69, passed away on October 25, 2025, in Searcy, Arkansas. Born on May 19, 1956, in Burlington, Vermont, Richard lived a life marked by hard work, deep connections with family and friends, and a spirit of generosity that touched everyone who knew him.

Richard was a man of many talents and trades. Over the years, he built a diverse career that reflected his strong work ethic and love for hands-on labor. From running lawn care services to working in concrete and paving, from loading and unloading ships and barges to dredging canals—he did it all. As a heavy equipment operator, he found true joy in his work and took pride in every job he undertook.

He was known not only for his industrious nature but also for his vibrant personality. Whether he was playing Bingo or heading out on a hunting trip, Richard embraced life with enthusiasm. He enjoyed shooting guns, bowling with friends, swimming on warm days, attending races, and spending quality time with those closest to him. His presence brought laughter and warmth to every gathering.

Richard’s Catholic faith was an important part of his life and values. He carried himself with humility and kindness, always putting others before himself. Those who knew him often described him as the most genuine and selfless person they had ever met—a testament to the way he lived each day.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Tiffany Moody; son-in-law Brandon Moody; grandson Carter Moody; sisters Pam Perry, Donna Keen, Linda Underwood, and Kim Williams; and many nieces and nephews; and best friend Bryan Ownby (Tracy). His memory is also cherished by many extended family members and friends whose lives he enriched through his unwavering support and friendship.

Richard was preceded in death by his beloved parents Betty A. Giroux and Francis J. Giroux; his daughter Faith R. Giroux; and his dear friend Thom “Bro” Brown.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Richard’s legacy and the joy he brought into the world.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness in his name.
