Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Shirley Louise DeVice went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 25, 2025. She was born on November 28, 1949, in Bonita, Louisiana, to the late William Clent Rogers Sr. and Bessie Morrow Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, James Rogers Sr. and Clent Rogers Jr.; and her sister, Dorlese Sanson.

Shirley is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Philip DeVice; daughters, Shelly Boyett and Cindy (Kevin) Ambeau; brother, Wayne (Annette) Rogers; and sisters, Kay Rogers, Joyce Rogers, and Carol DeVice. She was a loving grandmother to Lauren (Tucker) Leech, Laci (Tyler) Tarrant, Lake (Alexis) Boyett, and Jake (Tristan) Ambeau. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren, Waylon Leech, Bayler Tarrant, Camryn Boyett, Braidy Tarrant, Walker Leech, Marlee Staggs, and Wynnie Leech, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Shirley was the true definition of a matriarch. Her presence brought a sense of peace to everyone around her, and she possessed a unique ability to handle any situation with grace and strength.

She was a woman of many talents—an amazing cook, a skilled seamstress, a builder of many things, an angler, a gardener, and above all, a unifier of family and friends. Shirley’s home was a welcoming place, always filled with love, laughter, and an open door for anyone in need. She rarely said no, and her generosity and compassion touched countless lives.

To her daughters and grandchildren, she was lovingly known as the rock of the family—steadfast, dependable, and selfless in all that she did. Shirley’s legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on through those she cherished most.

While she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is rejoicing in heaven with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and with the loved ones who went before her.

A visitation will be held on October 30 at 10 a.m., with the funeral service starting at 11 a.m. at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot, Arkansas.

Nanny was one of a kind and made an impact on my life growing up! All the precious memories that I will carry on through out my lifetime and love that was shown in times i needed it most. She would go out of her way to comfort and uplift those who needed it! After having surgery she made me her amazing cooking and made me a care package. When I was in labor she was the very first person there at the hospital and stayed all day through out the night and when I was scared and didn’t think I could keep going before the baby came around and prayed over me! I still have all the beautiful things she made for me and my son. All the thanksgivings and Christmas holidays growing up she made sure to make me feel like I was her very own. She was beautiful inside and out . I will forever cherish the times I had with her and all the memories with her and her family and continue praying for them in this time of grief for comfort, peace and strength!
