Angel “Abel” Sanchez, 23, passed away unexpectedly on November 15, 2025, in a terrible car accident. Born on August 24, 2002, Abel was a son, brother, friend, grandson, Christ believer, and was currently studying to become an electrician. Abel is survived by his parents: Maria and Gustavo, siblings: Karla, Ethan, Angelie Perez. Abel lived a life surrounded by good, loving people, who helped him grow into a young man with a joyful life, even though he faced challenges from a very early age. Learning a new language, sudden life changes, and obstacles that could have shaped his future in painful ways. Instead, the people God placed around him, families, friends, Bayou Meto Baptist church, CEDE de Dios and especially his older sister became the foundation that helped him shape his faith in Christ and turn difficult moments into positives outcomes.
Angel Abel loved nature more than anything. He found peace in the sound of waves, the feeling of fresh air through the car window, and the stillness of early mornings by the water. His happiest days were spent fishing, kayaking, camping, gym, journaling, discovering hidden places outside, and visiting his secret lake. For those who knew him, friends, coworkers, and the people who loved him. Abel was a joyful/playful spirit, a young man with many inside jokes, a child at heart, full of purpose and kindness. His humor, his simplicity, and his love for nature and the quiet moments of life reflected that quiet faith that guided him everywhere he went.
Abel wasn’t someone who talked much about his feelings, yet he carried a steady and sincere faith in his heart. In his journals, he wrote about his goals, his struggles, and his conversations with God, revealing how nature reminded him that God speaks through the simple things. It also revealed a very thoughtful young man, full of dreams, gratitude, and with a noble spirit. Even through mistakes and difficulties, he always tried to grow, move forward with intention, and find peace in whatever he did.
Today we honor his life and God’s faithfulness in every stage of it. We remember Ángel Abel not just for what he did, but for who he was: a loving son, a loyal brother, genuine friend, that smile that lit up the room and a spirit that always searched for peace above everything else. His life, though short, was full of meaning, adventure, faith, and love.
“He taught us to see the good in people, to organize our lives, to never give up, and to appreciate the quiet, peaceful moments God gives us.”
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 1:00pm with the funeral service starting at 2:00pm at Bayou Meto Baptist Church.
