Curtis Lynn Runnels of Ward, Arkansas, passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 34. He was born on May 8, 1991.
He is preceded in death by his father Kevin Runnels, his grandmothers Linda Rolf, Mary Jane Adams, and paternal grandparents John Delbert Runnels and Betty Kesterson Runnels.
Curtis was a selfless person who put everyone else’s needs above his own. Along with working hard he enjoyed spending time with his best friend Austin, Jacob and his group of buddies whether it was being out on the water in his boat or just hanging out in the garage. His favorite place, Joyland Skating Rink is where he spent a lot of his time taking care of the kids and being an amazing role model to all. Anywhere he went he had a smile on his face and jokes to always lighten up the room and fill with laughter. Never was there a dull moment with him around. He always put others first keeping his needs last no matter the occasion. There will never be a day that goes by without missing his uplifting spirit and joyous presence .
He is survived by his wife, Ashley Runnels, his daughter, Whitney Runnels, his mother and step-father, Shawn and Kenny Mashburn, his brother, Christopher Runnels (Nicole) and family, his sisters Tabatha Runnels and Tiffany Runnels, his stepbrother Andrew Mashburn and family, his stepsister Autumn Mashburn. He also had many close friends who he considered family.
His memorial service will be at the Cowboy Church in El Paso, Arkansas on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 1:00pm.
