Doris Louise Gunter, age 86, of Austin, Arkansas passed away on November 27, 2025. She was born on May 30, 1939 in Austin to Charles E. Kirkland and Dillia Bernice (Woodiel) Kirkland.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents; husband James C. Gunter; brother Marvin Doyle Kirkland; sister Donia B. Kirkland; and two sons Randall C. Gunter and Douglas O. Gunter.

She is survived by her son Timothy J. Gunter; daughter Karen L. Kirk; grandchildren Jennifer Sherwood, Krystal Gunter, Magen Pease, Amanda Warren, Audra Mullins, Michael Charlton, Matthew Gunter, Mason Gunter, and Max Gunter; great-grandchildren Aubree Weddington, Caleb Weddington, Kavanna Gunter-Heckler, Samuel Gonzales, Adalee Ivey, Sophia Mullins, Milo Ellis, Liana Mullins, and Rylan Mullins; her sister Charlene Colaw; along with a host of extended family and friends whom she loved dearly.

Doris loved to play Canasta with her family. She enjoyed traveling between states and visiting family and friends. She was a member of Austin Station Baptist Church. She will be deeply missed by those she held dear to her heart.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 3:00pm in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville, Arkansas.
