
Michael Wayne Criswell, 64, of Cabot, Arkansas, passed away on December 10, 2025, in Searcy, Arkansas. He was born on October 1, 1961 in Little Rock. Known to his loved ones simply as Mikey, He spent nearly all his years as a resident of Cabot.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Mattox Criswell, his parents Lloyd Earl Criswell and Mary Inez Davenport Criswell and a brother Bobby Earl Criswell.
Earlier this year, on November 12th, Michael gave himself to God. A moment of peace and spiritual renewal and brought comfort to him and those who loved him. Mikey found his greatest joy with a fishing pole in his hand. Whether at Lake Conway or any other quiet fishing hole he could discover. He was also a proud grandfather and cherished every moment he spent with his grandchildren. Michael had a tender heart for animals, and he dearly loved his fur babies who brought him companionship, comfort and constant joy.
He is survived by sister, Sharon Lynn Criswell Melton, a brother James Allen Criswell (Shawna), a stepson, Joshua Mattox (Samantha), and grandchildren Calvin, Susie, Novalee and many nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his kind spirit, his love of animals, and the joy he found outdoors.
A family-hosted memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 10:00am at Ward/16th Section United Methodist Church located at 8683 Highway 319 West, Austin, AR 72007. A meal will be provided after the service at the church for family and friends to gather and share fond memories of Michael.
