Doris Copeland, 79, of Cabot AR, passed away on January 17th, 2026. Born on July 4, 1946, she was the second born of a set of twin girls to Paul and Evelyn (Eagan) Koch in Axtell, Kansas. Doris always lit up any room she was in! She loved to laugh and loved the slots even more.
Doris married Jim Copeland on July 2, 1994. Doris and Jim lived in Cabot Arkansas where they supported the local Wal-Mart and Cato’s almost on a daily basis. If you know Doris, you know she loved to shop, getting her hair and nails done, and loved the slots.
Doris worked for over 38 years at Pathfinders, Inc in Jacksonville AR. While employed there, she loved interacting with the clients, going to the monthly dances and laughing with her co-workers. As a result of Doris’s devotion to the special needs community, the Warren County Handicap Services in Warrenton MO renamed their facility PATHFINDERS. Doris was able to attend their grand opening and was an inspiration to the board members and staff.
She was a devoted mother to Jeff (Jenny) Culbertson, Sean Culbertson, Amira Copeland, Mikayla Culbertson , Rosa (Jason) Bagwell, Jimmy Copeland and Sheila Culbertson. Doris was the best NANA ever! A proud grandmother to Taylor (Kelly) Culbertson, Jeffrey Clay (Shelly) Culbertson, Gage and Bethany Bagwell, Corra Culbertson, and a loving great-grandmother to Abbi and Kaelynn Culbertson and Noah Culbertson.
In addition to her husband and children, Doris is survived by her siblings Maxine Davis, Kathleen Kuckelman, Janice (Tom) Slusser, Maurice (Cindy) Koch, along with many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends Judi Starnes, Janet Hubbard, and Mary Anders. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Evelyn Koch; her son Sean Culbertson, her twin sister Dorylan Jackson, her brother Gene Koch and a widower to David Alcorn.
The family is welcoming friends and family for open viewing on Thursday January 22nd from 6 pm to 8 pm at A Natural State Funeral Home in Jacksonville, AR.
