Jimmy Ross Holt, age 90, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away on January 28, 2026. He was born in Jacksonville on December 19, 1935 to the late Coy and Naomi (Cook) Holt.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, wife JoAnn Holt, brother Harry Holt, and two sisters Sue Delao and Pat Holt.
He is survived by two sons Jason Holt and Joe Holt (Michelle), two grandchildren Bailey and Lindsey Holt, one great-grandchild Crew Allison, one sister Jane Brown, along with a host of extended family and friends.
Jimmy worked as a machinist at Union Pacific for 44 years before retiring. He loved to garden. It was his passion, and he loved to share with his neighbors. He also had a great love for animals.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville. The funeral service will follow on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 1:00pm in the chapel. Burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Jacksonville after the service.

It was my pleasure to meet Mr. Holt three years ago when my father became a resident at Greystone Nursing. He was so nice and obvious that he was a good person. He will be greatly missed. So sorry for your loss💕
I went to school with Ross, played softball with him, worked at the railroad with him, rode back and forth to work with him and helped coach a little league baseball team with him. He was a fun person to be around and I treasure those memories. Prayers for the Family!
