Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Robert Edward Taylor, age 81, passed away peacefully in Little Rock, Arkansas, on January 13, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Dalton, Texas, on March 25, 1944, to Marvin Taylor and Peggy Lampley, Robert was a man of immense work ethic and skill. He dedicated his career to commercial construction, serving for many years as a superintendent. His legacy is woven throughout Little Rock, where he oversaw the construction and renovation of many of the city’s landmark buildings.

While he built structures by trade, Robert’s true heart was in the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter and crappie fisherman. He spent countless hours in his shop preparing for the next season. He was a master tinkerer who could build anything he set his mind to—and he was famously known for his habit of spray-painting or stenciling his name on every tool and treasure he owned. Robert was a “big personality” who never met a joke he couldn’t crack, and his humor will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Bettye Taylor; his three children, Ritchie Taylor, Brit Taylor, and Mysie Taylor; and his grandchildren, Britney Lloyd (James), Ashley, Mason, and Alexis. He also leaves behind three sisters, Sandra Ware, Janie Williams, and Vickie Watson. Robert held a particularly special bond with his granddaughter, Britney, his daughter-in-law, Sharon Walsh, and his niece, April Hendren, all of whom he thought of with great fondness.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 1:30pm with a funeral service to celebrate Robert’s life to follow at 2:00pm, at Pine Grove Baptist Church, located at 2504 East Dixon Rd., Little Rock, AR.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church in honor of Robert’s memory.

Bye, “Uncle Bob.” So many happy memories over the last 25 years. You taught me nearly everything I know, which wasn’t much, so thanks for nothing. 😉

One of the funniest moments was the two of us trying to fold a pop up tent back into a circle and stuff it back in its bag. We laughed so hard when that thing blew up in our faces in your shop.

Thanks for the scare when you shot a deer in my backyard last year, sitting on an office chair inside a deer blind I put up for you. The recoil knocked you over and left you stuck on the ground. Was that the very last deer you shot? I’ll be sure to ask you next time I see you.

Thanks for all the stories during beerfest, even the ones you told multiple times. Love you, Uncle Bob, and I’m going to miss you terribly.

I loved Robert, or Uncle Bob as I called him. Ill miss his visits, his hunting in my back yard. My heart goes out to the family. You are all in my prayers.

Robert Taylor There were many times I considered him like my second daddy, if he cared about you, some might consider him being tough on you. But I could tell it was to make you a better person in so many ways. Robert knew how to put things in ways that made me look inward to do what’s right and fair on both sides. I missed him so much, in my early years moving forward with my career, because he was always there to lean on, when I had doubts about what to do next. Then I would reflect back on what Robert taught me freely, it’s rare to be afforded someone at the right time in your life, not to be easy on you, but do what it takes to help you in so many aspects of your life. It also helps when he was always able to set the tone and lighten the mood with his contagious demeanor and humor. Robert you probably know now, you have always been in the back of my mind as I have strolled through life. Thank you, your forever grateful friend. And God Bless you.
