Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Rocky Ray Hammond was born on December 26, 1989, to Rocky Ray Ruth and Dina Ruth.  Rocky, and I, and our older sister, Reva Hammond, were later adopted by Thomas Grant Hammond and Betty Lou Hammond, who guided and supported us throughout our childhood.

Rocky is survived by his mother, Dina Ruth; his sisters, Reva Ruth Hammond and Misty  Faye Hammond; and his brothers, Thomas Hammond Jr. and Michael Carl Hammond. He  is also survived by his Aunt Rhonda Ruth and his cousin Angela Ruth. He passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, in Conway, Arkansas.

Rocky grew up in Mississippi and Texas before making his home in Arkansas. He was a  bright light to everyone who crossed his path, and he had a remarkable way of bringing  warmth, laughter, and energy into any room he entered. We all enjoyed his vibrant  personality. Though his journey here has ended, the joy he brought into our lives will never  fade.

We are thankful to APS and ILS of Arkansas for their dedication and hard work in  supporting Ray over the years. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude  Children’s Research Hospital.

I am so grateful for the time I was able to spend with Rocky while working at ILS during college. He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. Rocky, Dustie, and I shared many memories and laughs together. I am truly blessed to have known him and to have had the opportunity to work with him during my time in Conway. He was an inspiration to everyone around him and a beautiful example of living life with positivity and joy.

Rocky spent a lot of time with me and my family. He really enjoyed setting on my parents porch and playing the fiddle for them. He also tried teaching me a couple of songs on my piano. A very talented musician. I took him to the capitol in Little Rock Arkansas once to play for the senator . Even after I was no longer working he stayed in contact. I will truly miss his smile and his funny humor. Praying for peace for his family and friends
