
Charles Edward Fortson, 73, was born March 8, 1952 in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He died on February 25, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his parents George Edward Fortson and Louella (Bailey) Fortson; maternal grandparents C.D. Bailey and Vida Bailey; paternal grandparents Coy and Beluah Fortson; brother Mark B. Fortson; and his wife Kay Fortson.
He is survived by two daughters Paula Kay Adams Harness and Farrah Walters (Scott); two grandkids Heather Fortson and MaKayla Smith; great-grandkids Christopher Edwards, Maci Markcum, Beau Turner, Konnar Turner, Harley Turner, Brayder Sliffe, and Dealaya Smith; and sister Lee (Fortson) Reed (Mickey).
Charlie liked the outdoors, motorcycling, traveling, camping, wood working, and building furniture for family. He was a hard worker and reliable. He will be sorely missed by friends and family.
The family would like to thank Buddy, Makayla, and Paula for the excellent care he received.

Mr. Charlie was a great man, he used to do maintenance on our equipment years ago at the DC. RIP Mr. Charlie and prayers for the family….
Charley was one factory rep that i never had a cross word with partially because he knew Mary and i were schoolmates with Kay so we had we went way back.. Never did i have an issue with Charley as he was one person i could always rely on for information or just to visit. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Always Johnny & Mary Hodges.
