Joy Lee Wyatt Cagle, 76 years old, of Cabot, AR died on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at home after a lengthy illness.
Joy was born in El Dorado, AR, but moved innumerable times during her younger years as the child of a pipeline welder. Having to adjust quickly and often to new surroundings was likely the foundation of the great resilience that she demonstrated throughout her life. Joy began her career as a cosmetologist but then decided to transition into health care, whereby she initially started as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). Joy then put herself through nursing school while still working and raising her two sons, first as an LPN, then through a very rigorous LPN (Licensed Practice Nurse) to RN (Registered Nurse) program. Joy’s intelligence and work ethic showed in her dedication to the patients for whom she cared and the staff with whom she worked. Joy’s abilities eventually provided her the opportunity to become the Interim Director of St Vincent North Emergency Department before her retirement. After retiring from nursing, Joy turned another one of her passions, baking, into a successful business. She owned and operated Cabot Cheesecake Corner, which became known for having the best cheesecake in the region. Joy’s first love, however, was her family. Moving into healthcare also provided her the opportunity to meet the true companion of her life, her husband Jim with whom she was married for 32 years – James “Jim” Cagle.
She is survived by her two beloved sons, Zachary (wife- Rachel) and Peyton (wife-Ashley), and her eight grandchildren: Skylar, Isabella, Makayla, Gatlin, Gunner, Steele, Knox, and Zane.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Joseph Elliott Wyatt, Jr., and Ruby Lee Whittington Wyatt, both of Dodge City, LA.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 9:00am with the funeral service starting at 10:00am in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville. Burial will take place at Friendship Cemetery in Haynesville, Louisiana.
