Linda Mae Selvidge passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 29, 2026.
Linda was born on May 28, 1944, in Heber Springs, Arkansas. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered around faith, family, and hard work.
She leaves behind five daughters: Debbie Williams (Jeff) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Bonnie Jones (Bob) of Searcy, Arkansas; Peggy Bashaw (Scott) of Searcy, Arkansas; Billie Cornett of Searcy, Arkansas; and Becky McAlister (Mike) of Hot Springs, Arkansas. She is also survived by 13 beloved grandchildren, along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Linda’s life was a true example of perseverance and determination. She left school early to raise her family and worked for many years following the harvest. Later, she was employed by Bald Knob Schools. While working full-time and raising her daughters, she worked hard and proudly earned her GED. During this time, Linda also served for many years in the Reading Is Fundamental program, traveling across the United States on her own to attend workshops and conferences.
Linda went on to make history as the first woman meter reader employed by Entergy in Bald Knob, Arkansas. She worked faithfully for over 20 years, serving between Bald Knob and Hot Springs, before retiring.
Linda also loved camping and spending time outdoors. Some of her happiest moments were made around a campfire, enjoying nature, and creating special memories with the people she loved. She found peace in the simple beauty of the outdoors and truly enjoyed life’s little adventures.
Linda will be remembered for her strength, her dedication to her family, and the love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply.
