
Mark Bailey Fortson, 62, was born September 11, 1963 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He died on February 10, 2026 after a lengthy illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents George Edward Fortson and Louella (Bailey) Fortson; maternal grandparents C.D. and Vida Bailey; paternal grandparents Coy and Beluah Fortson; sister-in-law Kay Fortson.
He is survived by loving wife Theresa (Garland) Fortson; sons Jerry Kilcrease (Tina), Kevin Kilcrease, Lucus Wooten (Melissa); grandchildren Lucus Anthony, Chandler, Liam Wooten, Kaitlyn Emma, Carly, Jacob, Maximus Kilcrease; a brother Charlie Fortson and sister Lee Reed (Mickey).
Mark loved being outside hunting, fishing, and gardening. He started out at Petit Jean Vo-tech learning to be a heavy equipment operator. He supervised the construction of several churches and businesses in the surrounding area while employed by Alessi Keyes Construction for 30 years.
Mark picked the craziest friends, but if you were that friend, you were a friend until the end. He is sorely missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville. Graveside service will follow on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 2:00pm at Sumner Cemetery in Cabot.

Mark was a good friend, a valued employee and a great man. Mark cared about the quality of the work he did. That is a rare quality today and it is the reason we wanted him to work for us. You are loved my friend.
