
Mary Alice Rash Netzley, 76, of Sherwood, previously of Jacksonville, went to be with Jesus on Friday, January 30th, 2026, surrounded by her five children. She was born in Newport, Arkansas on March 30th, 1949.
Mary Alice enjoyed traveling from coast to coast with her mom and husband, including her favorite trips to Branson, Pigeon Forge and Alaska. She loved being with her family especially during summertime camping trips to Heber Springs. She had a passion for flowers and always had them in her garden. She proudly served on the Ladies Auxiliary and was a lifetime member of the VFW where she enjoyed dancing to her favorite Rock n Roll music with her closest friends. Above all else, she loved to care for others and show unconditional love.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Annette Kovalcheck (John), Renee’ Myers (John), Brandy Bokamper (Brock), Jack Netzley III, Heath Netzley (Heather), 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, her brothers HT, Billy, Skeeter, Lee, Dale, her sisters Betty Sue, Connie, Robin, Tammy, her ex-husband Jack Netzley Jr, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and two dear friends Lona and Ms. Vickie.
Mary Alice was preceded in death by her husband Howie Short, her parents George and Pearl Rash, Elmer and Mary Stivers, brothers Ronney, HD, Aubrey, Tadpole, Charles, Stephen Wayne and Mike.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm in the chapel at A Natural State Funeral Service in Jacksonville. The funeral service will follow on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 2:00pm in the chapel with burial to be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Cabot after the service.
Pallbearers include John Kovalcheck, John Myers, Brock Bokamper, Dylan Kovalcheck, Caleb McDaniel, Logan Prouty, and Luke Myers (Honorary).

Heavenly Father we thank you for the life of our dear sister and fellow member of the VFW Auxiliary. Her kindness dedication and spirit of service touched so many, and her presence will be deeply missed. Please bring comfort and peace to her family, friends and all of us who had the honor of knowing her. May we carry forward her Legacy of compassion strength and love. Rest her soul in Eternal peace.
