Leonardo Portillo, 91, of El Dorado, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026.

He was born on February 12, 1935, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Lugardo Portillo and Francisca Balderama Portillo.

Leonardo was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time with his family. He lived a long life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to those closest to him. His family will remember him for his strength, kindness, and the legacy he leaves through the many generations that follow him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Irma Roberts and Martha Hernandez; daughter-in-law, Maria Elena Portillo; and grandson, Richard Portillo Jr.

Leonardo is survived by his children: Leonardo Portillo Jr., Leopoldo Apolinar Israel Portillo (Poli), Jesus Ricardo Portillo and wife Sandra, Jose Portillo and wife Faye, Juan Martin Portillo and wife Elaine, Maria Dolores Elias (Lola) and husband Martin, Sonia Margarita Goff (Maggie) and husband Bruce, and Griselda Dorman.

He is also survived by his grandchildren: Laura Portillo-Amaya (Arturo), Lilly Portillo, Veronica Martinez, Manuel “Manny” Monrreal (Helen), Irma Yolanda Portillo (Adam), Darwin Roberts, Margarita “Winnie” Norment, Rocky Portillo (Kate), Whitney Williams (Nicholas), Chris Portillo, Lexi Portillo, Steven Portillo (Katie), Scott Eisenburg, Krystal Nicole “Nikki” Allen (Blake), Perla Olvera (Jose Lupe), Julio “Cucu” Hernandez, Leonardo “Lalo” Hernandez, Ana Gabriela “Gaby” Hernandez, Savannah Portillo, Carmen Linda Howe, Mercedes Portillo (Daniel Lieber), Luis Vital, Fidel Vital (Shaman), Justin Goff (Chrisha), Blake Goff, Clayton Ryan Dorman (Sara), Herbert Adam Dorman (Caylie), and Precious Hope Fleming (Emory).

Leonardo was further blessed with numerous great-grandchildren: Isabela Amaya, Abigail Amaya, Ana Amaya, Kamila Amaya, Kerstin Mondragon (Elias), Victor Martinez (Maria), Ocacio Martinez (Asia), Carmyn Monrreal, Kelsi Norment, Alissa Norment, Isabella Portillo, Bryceson Williams, Brynleigh Williams, Breydon Williams, Thorn Portillo, Maxon Portillo, QuinnLynn Portillo, Warren Eisenburg, Hank Allen, Raylyn Allen, Elizabeth Allen, Nathan Allen, Jose Olvera III, Axel Olvera, Brax Olvera, Vanessa Hernandez, Zeeva Jennings, Grayden Howe, Aidyn Lieber, Deston Lieber, Christian Vital, Nathan Vital, Aubrey, Jase, Jehu Vital, Berenice Vital, Allie Goff, Lexie, Layne, and Paul Dorman.

He is also survived by his great-great-grand daughters, Jimena Martinez and Tamia Martinez, who is expected soon.

Leonardo’s life was a blessing to his family, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
