Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

David “PeeWee” Gonzales of Cabot, formerly of Richmond, California, gained his angel wings on April 2, 2026.

He was born on May 10, 1938, in Oakland, California, to the late Estevan Gonzales and Veronica Perez Gonzales. David spent most of his life in Richmond, where he worked at Blue Chip and later as a painter for a construction company. He also proudly served four years in the Army National Guard. David was a hardworking man who was rarely still—he was always piddling with something, fixing, tinkering, or keeping busy in his own way. He had a passion and love for horses and old vehicles.

David was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Delores Mattson; his brother, Steve Gonzales; and his nephews, Ronnie McLaren and Russell McLaren.

He is survived by his sister, Sue (Richard) Kuns of South Lake Tahoe, California; his nephew, Stephen Gonzales of Austin, Arkansas; his nieces, Carolyn (Ronnie) Garrett of Greenbrier, Arkansas, and Kristina (Terry) Goforth of Austin, Arkansas; and his sister-in-law, Virginia Gonzales of Cabot, Arkansas. He also leaves behind many great-nieces and nephews, dear friends, and his special caregiver, KJ, whom he held close to his heart and considered an angel sent to him and his family. He is also remembered fondly by his last girlfriend, Belva, and the nurses and CNAs (on the 400 hall) at Cabot Nursing and Rehab.

His family-hosted celebration of life will be held at 920 West Highway 89, Cabot on May 10th at 4:00pm.

He was the sweetest onery man I ever met. He was so BLESSED when Kris and Stevie went to California 4 years ago and he got to know his Arkansas family and friends. Kris took such great care of him for the last 4 years and they developed a Bond that will never be broken. Rest in Love Peewee!
