Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Roland Dean Turner passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026. Dean was born March 3, 1961, in Midland Texas, the third child of Daniel Roland Turner and Christine Brown Turner. He was a cherished son, friend, and community member whose warmth and joyful spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

A published author, Dean shared his wisdom and faith through the written word. His published book Signs, was a laborious labor of love he felt God led him to complete.  His greatest passion was spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Dean never missed an opportunity to share with others the love of Jesus, whether through conversation, acts of kindness, or his work in ministry. His unwavering devotion to his faith was the guiding force of his life.

Dean dedicated much of his life to serving others through multiple church ministries. His compassion and commitment were evident in his work with prison ministry, where he offered hope and guidance to those seeking redemption. He also served in an at-risk fatherless youth ministry, providing mentorship and encouragement to young people in need of support and inspiration.

Dean was also passionate about sports, especially those of his beloved alma mater, the Arkansas Razorbacks, and his high school team the Conway Wampus Cats.  He enthusiastically followed Razorbacks football, basketball, baseball, and track and field, and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his team. In addition to being a devoted fan, Dean enjoyed spending time on the golf course, where he found both relaxation and camaraderie.

Dean is survived by his son, Matthew Buchy and daughter-in-law, Shyann Buchy; and his beloved grandchildren, Savannah Buchy and Grace Buchy.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Christine Turner. He is survived by sisters Debbie Ferguson (Randy) and Starla Gresham (Keith) and brother Doug Turner (Lori).

Dean’s life was a testament to kindness and dedication, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of compassion, humor, faith, and unwavering support will never be forgotten.

A private service Dean will be held at a later date.
