Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Ronnie Gene Lynch, a man who left an impression on everyone he met, passed away on April 15, 2026, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. He was born on November 26, 1949, in England, Arkansas, to Oral Lee Lynch and Corna Jewell Lynch.

Ronnie liked to say he “came into the world over a Chevrolet dealership,” and as a lifelong car lover, he was always proud of that beginning. The only boy among six children, he loved to remind people that he survived growing up with five sisters — a fact he shared with equal parts humor and pride.

A 1968 graduate of North Little Rock High School, Ronnie went on to become a dedicated civil servant, spending more than 25 years as a claims representative with the Social Security Administration. His work and personal efforts showed a deep commitment to helping others.

Ronnie lost his eyesight at age 27, but he never allowed that to diminish his enthusiasm for life. He became both a personal and professional advocate for people with disabilities, especially those who were blind or visually impaired. His determination and curiosity led him to pursue a remarkable range of activities after becoming totally blind: woodworking, bowling, board games, riding a tandem bicycle, tinkering with electronics, playing guitar, car repair, and giving detailed directions to anyone who drove him anywhere. His memory for streets and highways was legendary, and he delighted in proving he always knew exactly where he was.

A longtime amateur radio operator with the call sign K5NP, Ronnie shared his love of radio and electronics by leading a Boy Scout Explorer troop at the Arkansas School for the Blind, helping visually impaired students discover new skills and confidence.

Family was at the center of Ronnie’s world.  He loved spending time with his family and researching his family lineage and history. His three grandchildren are all boys and he delighted in hearing of their adventures and exploits.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Oral and Corna Jewell Lynch, and by his sisters Loretta Hillis, Juanita Hubert, and Wanda Younts.

He is survived by his children Michelle, Jason (Amber), and Ronnie II; his grandchildren Liam, Connor, and Brennan; his sisters Lou Williams and Sandi Webb; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him deeply.

A service to honor Ronnie’s life will be held on Friday, April 24, at 2:00 PM at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076.
