Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

James Earl Jackson, 71, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on May 19, 2026. Born and raised in Ferndale, Arkansas, James spent his life devoted to his family, his work, and the things he enjoyed most.

James was known for his strong work ethic and ability to work with his hands. In his younger years, he worked as a butcher at a packing house in Mississippi. He later worked for Commercial Engraving Company and Uniforce Technology, where he served as shop manager for over 20 years. Afterward, he proudly owned and operated James Jackson Construction, a trim carpentry business, until his retirement in 2005.

Outside of his work, James enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved fishing, hunting, carpentry work, visiting the casino, playing computer games, and watching UFC fights. A longtime fan of blues music, he especially enjoyed attending blues festivals. James also enjoyed spending time online watching Red Sovine videos, researching different topics, and learning new things. Above all else, he treasured being a grandfather and spending time with his family.

James is lovingly remembered by his wife, Brenda Jackson; his mother, Shelby “Jean” Beard; his brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Jackson; his children, Felicia Jackson, Dewayne Jackson, Tami Copeland, Dustin Brown, Brittany Brown, Trevette (Adam) Fisher, and Lacey (Jimmy) Lyons; 21 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Jackson; his brother, Ronnie Jackson; his sister-in-law, Donna Jackson; and his grandson, James Lyons III.

The family will hold a celebration of life on June 13, 2026.  Family and friends will be notified of the details.

James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
