Jesse Roland Stringfellow, 85, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on May 31, 2026. Born on March 24, 1941, to Wesley Roland and Mary Ann (Welsh) Stringfellow, Jesse was a man whose quiet strength and steady presence left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Jesse grew up in North Little Rock, one of six siblings, in a family that didn’t have much but never lacked for determination. Those early years shaped in him a strong work ethic and a lifelong bond with family that he carried for the rest of his life. He answered his country’s call when he was drafted into the United States Army, serving with honor for just under two years before returning home to build the life that would define him.
That life was built — quite literally — through construction. Jesse spent his career in home construction, a trade he was proud of and one he passed on to his son Paul. Construction was a Stringfellow tradition, one Jesse was proud to carry and to share with those who came after him.
Jesse and Donna found each other again in 2017 and were remarried, enjoying their years together taking in local sights and restaurants and sharing a love of their dogs. Those who loved Jesse knew that if you ever needed him, he would show up ready to help. He was a devoted husband and a father who was there when it mattered, who never missed a family gathering, and who provided for his children quietly and generously.
Jesse was an avid fisherman for many years, and in later life he found simple joy in his favorite shows and in the devoted company of his dogs. He remained remarkably healthy and active well into his later years, a fact that filled his family with both gratitude and pride. Jesse made it a priority to return to his faith and be reinstated as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses before his passing, which gave him great comfort.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Roland Stringfellow and Mary Ann (Welsh) Stringfellow; and by his brothers Tommy Stringfellow, Billy Stringfellow, and Bobby Stringfellow.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Stringfellow; his son, Paul Stringfellow; his daughters, Jessica Prather, Summer Joiner, and Ashley Malvankar and husband Aniket; his sisters, Norma Smith and Carol Johnson; his brother, Dale Stringfellow; and his daughter of the heart, Angie Shelton. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jason Prather, Nick Prather, Cassidy Prather, Winter Joiner, Jade Joiner, Scarlett Joiner, Aria Malvankar, Elan Malvankar, Zain Malvankar, James Creed Wells II, and Jesse Chandler Wells; and many beloved great-grandchildren.
Jesse Roland Stringfellow will be deeply missed by his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and all whose lives were made better for knowing him. He lived a full and hardworking life, and he left it at peace.
Funeral services will be at A Natural State Funeral Service, Jacksonville on Friday, June 12th, at 11:30am, with visitation on June 11th 6-8 pm.

I was sorry to read about Jesse today. He and I were lifelong Rose City friends from the first grade all the way through. We have worked together on various projects and was always a good working relationship and friendship between us our prayers and condolences to the family at this time.
Sad to hear about Jesses passing. I cannot remember when I didn’t know him. Seems all of the Stringfellow family has been around forever in the neighborhood. We were lucky to have them all.
I I am going to miss you, uncle Jessie rest in peace, uncle Jessie
Jesse, you were such a dear and sweet friend. Scott and I will miss all the laughs and pool games we shared at the Gary McKenzie Memorial VFW Post 10442 in Rose City. Fly high my friend, until we meet again.
