Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Laveta Reed, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, was born August 7, 1942 in Russellville and departed this life on June 20, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Laveta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was defined by her devotion to children and family. She had a special gift for nurturing and caring for others, which she demonstrated through operating a home daycare for more than ten years. She also faithfully served in the nursery ministry at Russellville First Assembly for over twenty years, touching the lives of countless children and families with her kindness, patience, and loving heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Vonnie Kelley, her beloved husband of 54 years, Thomas Reed; her daughter, Lanita Reed; her brother, Robert Kelley; and her brother-in-law, Warren Woolf.

Laveta leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her daughter Kelly Reed; her daughter and son-in-law Brent and Tonya Rushin; her sister, Rita Woolf; her sister-in-law, Jane Kelley along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Her greatest honor was being a grandmother to Hanna Rushin.

Those who knew Laveta will remember her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and dedication to caring for children. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, and her life was a testament to selfless service and compassion. The many children and families whose lives she touched are part of the lasting legacy she leaves behind.

Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love, faith, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
