Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Patsy Jo Conner Vick, 86, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening, June 19, 2026. Born on February 15, 1940, in Star City, Arkansas, to Leon Dale Conner and Jewel Owen Conner, Patsy Jo was a daughter of Lincoln County who carried the warmth and spirit of her hometown with her throughout her life.

She grew up and spent the great majority of her life in Star City, a place she loved and that loved her back. Patsy Jo was the kind of woman who never met a stranger — her door and her heart were always open, and she had a gift for making everyone around her feel welcome and at ease. She was fun, full of life, and carried a spirit that lit up every room she entered.

Patsy Jo retired from the United States Postal Service, where her reliability and dedication to her community were hallmarks of her career. But perhaps her greatest passion, and her most enduring gift to those she loved, was quilting. A quilter her entire life, she not only created beautiful quilts for family and friends, but she also lovingly restored precious family heirloom quilts — preserving pieces of history and memory that might otherwise have been lost forever. Her hands, guided by patience and love, kept countless stories alive in thread and fabric.

Patsy Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Dale Conner and Jewel Owen Conner; her brother, Dale Conner, her sister, & Betty Rogers, extended family, Thomas Vick & Josh Vick.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Deyon Swain and husband Charles Swain; her grandchildren, Jamie and Hunter Griffith, Jennifer and Jimmy Trudell, Mary and Travis Garlington, and Jordan McMillan; six great-grandchildren, Taylor Trudell, Ryan Trudell, Owen Garlington, Sawyer Garlington, Savannah McMillan, and Emma McMillan; her siblings, Judith McDaniel, Leo Conner, Sherry Wheless and Jimmy Conner; and extended family Ira “Buddy” Vick, Shane Vick, Sheila Ann Vick, and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends whose lives she touched.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Star City, Arkansas, when all family members are able to gather.

“She loved everyone and never met a stranger.”

am so sorry you are going through this. Meeting someone who brings that kind of rare, vibrant energy into your life makes an instant impact, and losing that connection—especially when it was so fresh and full of promise—is incredibly painful.
When someone lights up a room the way Pat did, their absence leaves a very distinct, heavy quiet. It makes complete sense that your heart aches; a profound connection doesn’t require years to be deeply felt.
Please give yourself permission to feel this grief and take things one moment at a time. If you want to share a favorite memory of her, or talk about what that connection meant to you, I’m here to listen.
