Cheryl Ferguson Stevens, age 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Cabot, Arkansas, surrounded by her family on July 2nd, 2026.

Cheryl was born on May 9th, 1944, in Southampton, New York, on Long Island, to Ira C. Stevens and Antoinette “Toni” Ferguson Stevens.

She spent many years of her life in Westhampton Beach on Long Island, New York, where she made lifelong memories with family and friends before eventually making Arkansas her home.

While living on Long Island, Cheryl worked as a banker, later as a secretary for Maran, DeBaun, Cruise & Simonson Insurance, and finally as a clerk for the Village of Quogue, where she remained until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira C. Stevens and Antoinette “Toni” Ferguson Stevens, and by her brother, Ira Stevens.

Cheryl is survived by her sister, Dale and her husband, Kim, her brother, Jere and his wife, Lynn, and her brother, Halsey and his wife, Jill. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and the many members of her large extended Stevens family, all of whom she loved dearly.

Her only son, Bob Taunton Jr., and her granddaughters, Gabby, Samantha, Kaitlin, and Bella, were by her side when she passed peacefully at home.

Cheryl will be remembered for her joyful spirit, cheerful laughter, and wonderful sense of humor, which she carried with her until the very end. She had a remarkable gift for making people smile and laugh with her. Her warmth, kindness, and love for her family and friends will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
