Dorothy Diane “Dot” Tippit, 69, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Dorothy was born on June 15, 1957, to Bobby J. “Papa” Johnson and Muriel Ellen “Nanny” Johnson, who both preceded her in death.

At the age of 14, Dorothy married James Tippit. They remained married for 37 years until his death in December 2008.

She is survived by her three sons: Mark Tippit (Lori) of Ward, Michael Tippit (Tracy) of Hot Springs, and Zechariah Tippit (Jennifer) of Cabot. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Lyla Tippit of Cabot.

She is survived by her siblings: Wayne Johnson (Lesha) of Lonoke; Karen Cole of Lonoke; Jimmy Johnson (Lisa) of Cabot; and Sharron Bolin (Sammy) of Scott. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jo Ellen “Jody” Cooper.

Dorothy also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and dear friends.

Dorothy will be remembered by many for the love for her family and for the time she shared with those who knew her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

    I’m so sorry to hear this. Rusty Sparks also passed away in 2023. My son Mark passed in 2012. I don’t know if you remember me or not. We all lived in the same trailer park in Tontitown. God bless you all.
