Gail Lee Finne Marek, born on July 3, 1949, passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2026.
Gail was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don Marek.
A longtime resident of Little Rock, Arkansas, Gail found great joy in her career as a dental hygienist. She genuinely loved her profession and the relationships she built throughout the years.
Gail had a deep appreciation for music of every kind and a lifelong fascination with history. Whether listening to her favorite tunes blaring through the beauty shop on hair days or enjoying a sweet treat with her signature smile and gentle giggle, she found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She also enjoyed therapy sessions, games, and, most importantly, the kindness and love shown to her by those around her.
Many may not have known that Gail was an exceptionally gifted pianist and a talented artist. Her beautiful artwork stands as a lasting reminder of her creativity and the quiet gifts she shared with the world.
She leaves behind her dear friends, Shelly Calhoun and Tony DiTomaso, as well as her beloved companion, Tiggee Cat.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Willow Grove of Maumelle for loving Gail as one of your own. Your compassion, friendship, and exceptional care brought comfort and joy to her life. Though Gail was an introverted soul, she never met a stranger. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, artistic talents, and quiet grace touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Gail was a sweet friend/sorority sister and attended First Baptist with her who I know will be missed. Her husband, Don, worked with my father, too. I’m sorry I lost touch with her. She always was a lovely woman!
I met Gail through her grandmother, Mrs. Neely, who was my piano teacher for eleven years. We were in third grade together, then junior high and high school. She was always such a lovely person and I’m thankful I knew her.
I attended public school with Gail from Elementary School to Central High. And then, we attended UALR, together. We were also in the same PiPhi Pledge Class. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She was so an incredible person with a bright personality. I am sure that her family will miss her, greatly.
Gail and I lived on Fair Park Blvd. and rode the school bus to Southwest Junior High. She always had the prettiest clothes, hair and personality. One of the most amazing things that I remember about her was that she could put on her mascara on the way to school without a mirror. I was truly impressed!
Her grandmother gave me piano lessons and her parents were the kindest people. I loved them all.
Gail was my mom’s cousin. I remember her so fondly. She was so sweet to host me at her home where we poured over her old family photos and told stories. How I wish I made that happen more! Rest in peace, Gail. You will be missed.
