Luis Carlos Salinas (LOS), age 53, of Searcy, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026.

He was born on August 8, 1972, in Aurora, Illinois, to Antonio and Luisa (Trejo) Salinas.

Luis was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather whose greatest joy in life was his family. He enjoyed many things, including preaching the Gospel, fishing, bowling, and spending time with family and friends. Above all, he loved and cherished his grandchildren. He FaceTimed Nova every day and treasured every moment with his grandbabies. His family was his greatest blessing, and he took every opportunity to remind them how deeply he loved them.

Luis was always willing to help anyone, whether they were family, friends, or complete strangers. He would give his last to help those he loved and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to someone in need. His generosity, kindness, and selflessness touched the lives of countless people.

He was 1st baptized in 1983 by Rev. Jesse Peterman at the Benton Street Apostolic Church in Aurora Illinois where he has stayed connected with several members (church family).

His relationship with God was the foundation of his life. He faithfully preached the Gospel and believed wholeheartedly in the power of prayer—a faith that was instilled in him by his parents, Antonio and Luisa. He carried that legacy throughout his life and, in turn, passed it on to his own children and grandchildren, teaching them to trust in God and the strength found in prayer.

Luis had many occupations throughout his life, from Illinois to Arkansas. His final career was as a mechanic, a trade he genuinely enjoyed. He loved working on cars alongside his best friend, Charlie McMullen, and took pride in using his skills to help others whenever he could.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Monica Salinas; his children, Johnathan (Carissa) Salinas and Raquel Salinas (Carson) Pate; and his cherished grandchildren, Nova Salinas Sills, Adalie Pate, and Atlas Salinas-Pate. And his siblings Juan Salinas, Belinda Salinas, Rose Highsmith, Destiny Welsh, Raquel Pagen, and Jennifer Slayter

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Luisa Salinas; his parents-in-law, Harlen and Judith Chapman; his siblings, Isabel Salinas Dixon, Marcos Salinas, and Roel Salinas; and his nephew and niece, Adam Salinas, Samantha Booten, and James Booten.

Luis’s life was a testament to faith, generosity, compassion, and unconditional love. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his servant’s heart, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. His legacy of prayer, kindness, and devotion to family will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, and all those whose lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed, the love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the example he set will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
