Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Ronald Wayne “Ronnie” Dickerson, 72, of White Hall, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on June 30, 2026.

Ronnie was born on December 23, 1953, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to the late Jim and Rachel Dickerson.

He married the love of his life, Nancy Dickerson, in 1975, and they remained devoted to one another until her death in 2012. Together, they built a loving family and shared many wonderful years together.

Music was one of Ronnie’s greatest passions, and he was a gifted musician from an early age. He began playing the upright bass in his parents’ band as a young boy, and that love of music stayed with him throughout his life. Over the years, he learned to play many instruments, though the bass and the dobro always held a special place in his heart.

While in high school, Ronnie played bass with the Pine Bluff Singers. After graduation, he traveled professionally with numerous bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, and country bands, sharing the stage with legendary artists such as Bill Monroe, Marty Stuart, and Carl Jackson.

Ronnie was an active member of the Port City Blues Society and never hesitated to share his talents or help someone learn a new song. He found great joy in teaching, encouraging, and playing alongside others. One of his greatest sources of pride was passing his love of music on to his children, grandchildren, and extended family, ensuring that the traditions and songs he cherished would live on for generations. He truly was a musician’s musician, and his music will continue to echo through the lives of all who knew and loved him.

Ronnie dedicated 31 years of service as a truck driver for UPS before retiring. He was known for his strong work ethic, his devotion to his family, and the friendships he made throughout his life. He touched the lives of many and will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and his unwavering love for those closest to him.

Ronnie is survived by his five sons: Carrol (Cyndi) Dickerson, Jason Dickerson, Brian (Rachel) Dickerson, Josh (Tara) Dickerson, and Tim Dickerson. He also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Clay Dickerson (Emily), Caitlin Dickerson, Bryson Dickerson, Jake Dickerson, Aiden Dickerson, Jacquelyn Dickerson and two great-grandchildren, Levi Dickerson and Silas Dickerson.

Also left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Darlene Aud, Cyndi Aud (Perry), Donna Taylor (Jim), and Amy McCarty (Jaime), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

In addition, he is survived by his longtime companion, Trish Roberts, who brought joy, friendship, and companionship to his life in later years.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

In accordance with Ronnie’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, he wanted his family and friends to gather, celebrate his life, and share memories in a place with a porch where there could be plenty of picking and grinning. The date and location will be announced at a later time.

Ronnie was so versatile of a musician that he could sit in with anyone and play all night long and never miss a note! Ronnie played the Steel Guitar and Dobro on our Jamestown Flood Band CD called Flood Zone. His contributions were what brought it all together. I remember in the studio I had written this Creedence sounding song and I wanted it spooky and he tried several different approaches on the intro and it just wasn’t quite what I had in mind. Lol So I told him Ronnie imagine you’re lost in the woods alone and something screams really loud and starts chasing you. He looked at me and said ohhhh ok do it again. So the next take he created a swampy intro that made the engineer take notice and to this day still makes me say WOW! Thank you Ronnie for being a part of mine and my daughter’s Punky life. We’re gonna miss ya friend. We love ya Ronnie! Rest In Peace my Brother…….Tell John, Mickster, Everett, Mikey, Terry and of course Nancy we said hi. We miss you all!!!
