Wanda Gail McCranie, age 63, Went home to be with the LORD, Wednesday July 15th, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness and dedication to her family and community.
Wanda was born on January 26th, 1963, in Harrison, Arkansas to James and Lora “Fern” Flippo who preceded her in death and her brother John Flippo.
For more than 35 years, Wanda faithfully served as an elementary school teacher. She recently taught at Crestwood elementary for the last 21 years. She loved being an educator and found immense joy in helping children learn, grow, and believe in themselves. The countless lives she touched through her years in the classroom stand as a lasting testament to her compassion and commitment.
Wanda shared thirty-five wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Richard McCranie. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and faith.
She is survived by her loving husband Richard McCranie; her son and daughter-in-law James and Salina McCranie. Her daughter Victoria McCranie; her brother Dale and Sarah Flippo and their children, along with extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She found joy in Church and their activities, making custom cards, crafting, sewing, and she treasured the time she spent with those she loved. Wanda will be remembered for her gentle spirit, creative heart, unwavering kindness, and the love for Jesus Christ and the compassion she so freely gave to everyone she met.
Though Wanda will be deeply missed, the countless lives she shaped as a teacher, and the memories she created with her family and friends will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 12:00pm at City Hope Church located at 3501 John Harden Drive in Jacksonville, Arkansas.

So sorry for your loss.
Wanda and I, along with many others, worked together at Crestwood for many years together. Wanda mastered the art of teaching Science to upper elementary students, and created an amazing learning environment for so many students.
She teased about her fiery red her and how she could be a little spicy at times. She could have fun, roll with the punches, and knew the importance of relationships.
She was loved, and will be missed, but never forgotten.
We are praying over her family as they mourn her death, but we celebrate with them in knowing we will see her again in Heaven.

Wanda and I met about 10 years ago when we moved into the house across the street from her. We spent many hours walking the neighborhood and talking about the world and family. I cameo know that she was one of the best Science teachers in the state. With her dedication to her students that really outshined most teachers. She truly was dedicated to teaching even the hardest students what science and social studies really stood for and how it could shape their lives. I miss her friendship and time with her and know that the students she’s taught will also miss her. Praying for the family, as she loved them so much and I know she is missed in so many ways. Rest in peace, Wanda. God has you in his loving arms, now.

I’m deeply saddened by the passing of this beautiful lady. She was so kind to me when I would substitute teach. May God be with her family.
