Marla “Gay” Carpenter, age 70, was a resident of Maumelle. She passed away on August 12, 2026 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.
She was born on April 28, 1956 in Little Rock, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernie Medlin Jr. and Barbara Wilkerson Medlin. She is survived by one son, Scott Kimball and one sister Kay Medlin both of Maumelle, AR.
She attended Hot Springs high school where she graduated in 1974. From Hot Springs, she moved to Destin, FL. She loved deep sea fishing and hanging out with friends that came to visit often. She loved all animals and would help any stray she came across. The love of her life was her son Scott.

Gay was so loved by her friends and fellow classmates. I hope she knew that. We feel the loss.
Gay was so outgoing! She never met a stranger and included everyone that came into her life. She was a blast to be around. Sorry for our loss!
