Nathan Jorin Young Jr. passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on August 29th, 2026. He was born on July 16th, 1967 in Anchorage, Alaska to Frances J. Young and Nathan J. Young Sr. Following proudly in his father’s footsteps, Nathan served honorably in the U.S. Navy for two years. During his military service, he served in Operation Desert Storm aboard the USS Stump as an E3 Boatswain’s Mate, where he oversaw vital ship maintenance. After his service, Nathan pursued higher education at a college in Utah and completed comprehensive trade school training, specializing in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Appliances, and Pool Services.
Nathan went on to build a successful career supervising maintenance operation for large apartment complexes across Missouri, and North Carolina, where he became known for his skill in rebuilding and restoring units. Nathan spent his last 12 years sharing his lifelong love for music as a professional D.J. While Country music held a special place in his heart, he loved all genres and brought joy to Weddings, Parties, and Karaoke Events.
Nathan loved the culinary arts and took great pride in his cooking and most recently he loved using his ice cream machine to make all sorts of different flavors for his mom. He thoroughly loved playing pool and proudly held many trophies from his days playing in Leagues and Tournaments. Nathan was also an avid Chess player, spent time collecting Baseball cards, and old Comic Books. His favorite baseball team was the L.A. Dodgers. He held an inseparable bond with his dog Pepper- nickname “Ugly”, well if you have ever seen him, you understand why. His companion followed him faithfully almost every step Nathan took for the last 10 years.
Nathan received a “Life Saving Medal”, from the state of Utah. with no regard for himself jumped into a freezing lake to save several people during a storm. That’s the type of person Nathan was, selfless and courageous.
Above all, Nathan was a dedicated and Beloved caregiver for the last 20 years, first for his father till he passed in 2010, and then for his mother until his passing. Nathan treasured his family, one special bond was with his niece, Oaklynn, whom he affectionately nicknamed his “blonde haired Gremlin” He treasured each one of his nieces and Nephews and loved spending time with them.
Nathan is preceded in death by his father Nathan J. Young Sr.; his sister, Springer Leigh Young; his brother, Phillip Daniel Young; Grandparents, Vernon and Florence Young, and Jimmy L. Gay and Doris E. Gay.
Nathan is survived by his son, Matthew Quade Young (Cunningham) of Missouri; Mother, Frances J. Young of Royal, Ar.; Siblings Kaye Murray (Jim) of Davenport Florida; Hollie Coward (Jamie) of Malvern; Billy Young of St. Peters, Missouri; Jeff Young (Ashley) of Benton; Phyllis Hancock (Hanski) of Hot Springs Village; Beverly Beaver of Maumelle; as well as a loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Refugee Church located at 3217 Airport Rd. Pearcy, Ar. 71964 on September 18th from 2:00-4:00pm. There will be a formal burial at a later date.
